[ she spends the entire walk back from the new bunker wondering whether or not to tell him about it or leave it to the network. at midday, he could be just about anywhere. ultimately, Jess decides to disturb him and fire off a message or two to meet her someplace discreet. that might even be their house, if Kamala is engaged in the village. her normal patterns may be completely scattershot, and she has a right to that the same as she has to Jess's trust. a day or two more of it, then she's due to check in on her. (another week or three until she stops avoiding her from dawn till dusk.) ]

[ he tells her he's at the schoolhouse. just like the library in reims this has become a regular haunt. but for some reason he's losing patience as he starts to look through the books. maybe it has something to do with the red band around his wrist...? she comes in but he doesn't turn around, a hand combing back through his hair in agitation as bruno swarms her once again. aretha is with him too, but she doesn't even get up, just pops open an eye from her nap by the shelves. ]

[ frank is humming to himself early in the morning as he goes through the routine of preparing meals for the dogs. nothing seems all that amiss, though he's wearing a hoodie half-zipped without a shirt on again and his team scrub bottoms as the animals watch him intently. he pretends not to notice as his hum-singing gets even louder. ]

[Kamala comes down with classic case of bedhead and grumbling about how it's either coffee or death for her. She's walking through the house wrapped in a blanket and casting a judgy look Frank's way at his lack of a shirt.] Morning, Frank.

[She dramatically takes a seat at the table and letting her face fall onto it so she can get some more sleep.] Wake me up when it's my turn.

[She's filming on location aka the Far Northeastern foothills with an outfit she definitely didn't leave the house in since it is literally the warmest thing she owns. Surely this is going to be a happy message from Kamala about how she's cracked the code for a super delicious new recipe.] Okay so let me start this off by telling you not to freak out. It's super important you stay cool for this!

[She holds up her other hand like he's going to interrupt her!!!] So... I might have gotten kidnapped to go on some random mission to collect ants with some guy I never met. I might have also challenged him to a fight, but!

In my defense, I didn't know if he was the guy who kidnapped me or not. Anyways, I'll be gone all week collecting ants and then they just send me home, I guess? This place is weird. Just wanted you to know before I mysteriously disappeared for a week. Still alive and not in some creepy basement! Just you know... in the middle of nowhere with some guy I don't know. Totally reassuring........ uh. Forget I said that place part.

[She'll flashes the okay sign at him and puts on a big smile!] I have this totally under control. Over?

[ it's an exercise in serious restraint when she tells him to stay cool and just listen. his danger senses are already in high alert. and of course they took kamala, she's the useful one out of the lot, isn't she? ]

What's his name? [ is all frank asks. he may take a more lowkey approach to his existence here as opposed to reims, but he still knows most people in some passing way or another. then he's shoving bruno off his lap and waving to jess across the small house. ] It's Kamala.

No shit. [ Jess mumbles from the kitchen entryway. it is a small house, and much like Kamala, it quaintly fails to contain her enthusiasm whether she's there in person or broadcasting from a device.

she approaches with a frown, having gleaned the gist from afar. ] Same question. [ she chimes in from off-screen, foregoing a "hey, Kam" that's becoming a better fit all the time. ]
