[ she doesn't reply because she's showing up at the garage a few minutes later, strolling in silently as she looks around the place. the setup isn't exactly something she's familiar with, but she gets the gist of it once she sees the dummies placed around the area.

there's hand wraps lying around at the base of it and she picks it up, carefully wrapping the material around her knuckles and fingers. sparring or not and soundproofed or not, it's better to be safe and she's not exactly looking to get picked off by sound eaters just for being careless. ]

[ he wanders in from the main house, his hands already wrapped as well. the valkyrie. he doesn't know what that means, but he remembers the strength behind her hands when she'd jacked him up against the wall. he's looking forward to having his ass beat by a girl yet again. once they're close enough to risk it, he speaks in a low, gravelly tone. ]

Wanna get right to this? [ frank gestures to the ring. she doesn't seem like the type for small talk. ]

YEAH

[swig]

[ now that she's expecting him, she doesn't jack him up against the wall this time, but she does take a moment to size him up. his height and width are easily twice her size, but that doesn't deter her; if anything, he looks like he likes getting roughed up, which is always a nice sign. ]

Sure.

[ who has time for small talk when you can just get right to punching each other out. once they get in the ring, she tests the give of the wraps around her knuckles with a bit of a frown but doesn't hesitate to quickly close the distance between them. this isn't the same as training hulk, but she approaches it in the same way: not shy about getting up in his space and using her smaller size to her advantage, only barely holding back her strength. ]

[ frank is used to fighting superpowered ladies by now and is surprisingly light on his feet despite his bulk. he's good at getting out of her way and only deals blows with the full brunt of his strength behind them. this is the most fun he's had in a match in a while and it shows, even as he begins slowing down.

by the time they're both done, they're each wearing bruises and a smile and isn't that really what this is all about? he holds out his wrapped hand to shake hers after the match, bowing his head in respect even as some blood trickles from his nose. ]

[ she wasn't expecting much from this but the grin on her face at least proves she's pleasantly surprised. it's not often she's able to enjoy a spar and it's easy to lose herself in it; frank isn't asgardian but she feels the force behind his punches, and it's nice to let loose like this without having anyone's life being threatened by dust people or goddesses of death.

the bruises she has will fade within the day, but she doesn't think she'll forget this anytime soon. she takes frank's hand with a firm shake, and licks a bit of blood away from the corner of her lip. ]

Does this mean I'm in?

[oorah]

[ he tips his head, unable to shake his smile completely still. ] You still wanna be? [ just checking, though it's kind of a tease too. it's almost reluctant the way he lets go of her hand. they're going to have to do that again. ]

[swig]

Figured I owed you for the welcome basket.

[ she's always down to go at it again. fighting is easy, sparring even more so, and it's nice to cut loose once in a while without having to worry about the next big thing coming for them all. plus, he's not bad for a human, as much as she thought she wouldn't be surprised anymore. ]

[oorah]

[ he smiles at that, though it's predictable the way he shrugs dismissively a second later. ]

You don't, but we appreciate the help.

[swig]

I'm not good with charity.

[ it's predictable, and her return shrug might be as well, gaze focused on her hands as she carefully unwraps them. she's never been very good at accepting handouts. ]

[oorah]

[ his face twitches noticeably at that, like an involuntary tic, and he narrows his eyes as he meets hers again. ]

Wasn't charity. I just... try to soften the blow for people, when I can. This place is a lot to take in. [ and feeling personally responsible for everyone who comes in sure is healthy & productive ]

[swig]

That's not your responsibility, is it?

[ she's brusque, but not unkind, taking a longer look at him once the wraps are discarded. she understands the intent and it's admirable, even if she thinks it'll wear him thin in the end.

but that's his choice too, and she's not here to police anyone. ]

I like the setup you've got here.

[oorah]

[ that's not your responsibility. is it? frank swallows, trying not to let on just how close to home she just hit it. he knows she isn't even trying to call him out, which just means it's that obvious. ]

Yeah. It doesn't suck. [ people come here to get out the frustrations of this place safely. he likes being a part of that, responsibility or not. ] You thirsty? [ she reminds him of jessica, always a slight sway to her gait. always looking for her next drink. well, he could go for one himself just now. he jerks a thumb in indication back towards the main house. ]

[ always looking for her next drink, albeit with less of an urgency as before. asgard is gone and so is hela, and none of those things mean anything in this place. the guilt will always be there, but it's easier to start letting go when she's got bigger things on her mind: being silent, being vigilant, finding a way back to her people. ]

Sure.

[ not that it'll stop her from taking a free drink, though. she'll follow him inside, taking note of someone else around but she doesn't think much of it. ]
