[This is not what he wants to be dealing with. At all. Jones, Kilgrave, Castle; if it had to be pains in his ass, why couldn't Steve have shown up. At least Tony trusts him. Kind of sort of. It's complicated.

But this— it's his job to keep the imports from his world in line. And he can't have an abuse of power being put up right before his eyes. Not considering Frank's record. It'd be irresponsible of Tony.

F.R.I.D.A.Y. doesn't say a polite message, she says what works to begin a trickling and increasing departure of what could be innocents caught in the crossfire.]

It's because I know where this path leads that I'm here. You may think you can handle being hated, but you of all people should know once something's taken away it's gone. That's on you and what you do here is on me. You can't promise me you'll be in the right every time, every arrest.

[He's just stalling as the building empties, waiting for F.R.I.D.A.Y. to give him the all clear. People have to leave, but they also have to get clear of the blast radius.]

You think Kilgrave didn't come to me trying to convince me to arrest Jessica? Can you imagine what would have happened if I simply believed him? What's stopping you and Jones from making that mistake? Because right now your combined track records aren't enough to guarantee the lives of every individual you put behind those bars.
