Why? They chose you, didn’t they? And caring for the people is a leader’s foremost job.
I will do what I can to help with that, then. I’ve been given the duties of a teacher, but it would be no trouble to do both.
I heard that our arrival was out of the norm. Has a cause been discovered yet?

i'm not big on democracy
and i don't know how much our native given jobs matter not to burst your bubble
looking for reason in this place might drive you crazy too
best we can do is roll with the hits right now
and they just keep coming

Why would they not matter? Whether or not we stay here, we can still contribute to their society while they host us.
I have been in worse situations, if you can believe it.

Things have never been simple on any planet I've visited. I shouldn't have assumed this place would be different.

i've been deployed a lot of different places
this isn't so different but
the people here are complacent
they don't want to help us
they won't.
it's okay to pool resources as long as you understand that they'll always use us as pawns because we come back

Perhaps not. But that doesn't mean we have to abandon them. That would be crueler than their complacency.
From the reset, you mean. I've heard. This is not the first time I've seen people brought back from the dead, though I still could not say how it's done.
I cannot say I know much of the history of this place, only what they have told me. Do you know more?

i just said it's something to keep in mind
no one knows how the reset room works but it does
only on arrivals not on natives
all the information i've found i've been compiling here
from everything we've seen it was a normal earth until the sound eaters came
no one knows how or why that happened.

Something similar happened in the place I was before this. We called it resurging. People would come back... missing something. Memories, mostly. But at times there were other complications.
Thank you for the information. Nobody has been able to kill a sound eater? I've only heard stories of unkillable creatures.

it's those other complications i'm worried about.
nobody has succeeded yet. not even the most powerful among us.

Have you seen some in those who are reset?
Because they can't catch the creatures, or because of something else?

not yet. only temporary memory loss.
i'm worried what will happen once a person is reset more than once or twice though.

they can't catch them or hurt them. i watched a woman as powerful as a god taken down in seconds. they have no apparent weakness once they decide to attack.
