I care about you way more than what anyone thinks of me.
[Including her parents and brother. She knows deep down if they couldn't accept the new Kamala that they aren't who she thinks they are. Their disapproval would be the least of her concerns at that point.]
[She meets his eyes in order to impress this upon on him.] I know, but if there's one thing becoming me taught me is that we have no control over that. I didn't ask for some crazy man to literally invent a creature that would kidnap or gaslight kids into coming with him so he could power his inventions with them. It just happened and I had the power to stop it so I did. It's going to the same way whenever we find out what that lady was trying to save the world from or whoever brought us here brings someone who will want to hurt us.
